Berlin. StudyWorld 2010, the international fair for higher and continuing education, came to a close on Saturday, April 24th. A total of 7,584 visitors gathered in Berlin’s Russian House of Science and Culture, where they profited from the wealth of information available about academic programmes, internships and further educational possibilities in Germany and around the world. Representatives from 180 universities and training providers from 29 countries presented their course offerings and services to the visitors. Exhibitors included universities, technical-training colleges from Germany and abroad, as well as academic-exchange agencies and internship-placement organisations.
Silke Lieber, project manager of StudyWorld 2010, commented, "We are pleased that we were again able to offer our guests such great variety: In addition to German educational institutions, we also hosted numerous international exhibitors. StudyWorld is truly a marketplace for anyone dreaming about an academic stay abroad. Our visitors have a unique opportunity to acquire a broad perspective of all sides of the issues and get consultation directly onsite.”
The focus of this year’s StudyWorld was Studying in Spain. Thirty educational institutions, including 21 universities from all corners of the country, presented their courses of studies to the fairgoers. In addition, the Universidad.es Foundation provided information about admissions and financing an educational stay in Spain.
Furthermore, the seminar programme - with 60 sessions - gave tips on overseas practical training, provided insight into topics related to recognition of degrees and academic credit and also covered financial considerations related to a stay in a foreign country. Individual presentations dealt with opportunities to take part in academic programmes and exchanges in France, Great Britain, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and the USA, among other relevant areas.
Plans for the next StudyWorld are already in gear. The sixth International fair for higher and continuing education will take place in Berlin on May 20th and 21st, 2011.
